Overview
RentFlow is a rental management app for individual landlords. We take your privacy seriously. This policy explains what data the app uses and why — in plain language.
Data We Do NOT Collect
- We do not collect any personal data on our servers.
- We do not use advertising SDKs.
- There are no accounts, logins, or cloud profiles in RentFlow.
Crash Reports
RentFlow may use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports and basic diagnostic information, such as device type, operating system version, app version, crash logs, and technical identifiers needed to diagnose app stability issues. This data is used only to improve app reliability and is processed by Google Firebase as our service provider.
Data Stored on Your Device
All your data — properties, tenants, payments, expenses — is stored exclusively in a local SQLite database on your device. It never leaves your phone unless you explicitly create a backup.
Biometric Authentication
If you enable biometric lock (fingerprint / face recognition), the app uses your device's built-in authentication system (Android BiometricPrompt). RentFlow never accesses, reads, or stores your biometric data in any form. Authentication is handled entirely by the operating system.
Google Drive Backup (Pro)
The Pro version offers an optional backup to Google Drive. When you initiate a backup, the app uploads a single database backup file to your personal Google Drive account — in a folder only RentFlow can access. We never read, process, or store your backup files. You can delete the backup from your Google Drive at any time.
Data Retention and Deletion
RentFlow keeps your rental data on your device until you delete it in the app or uninstall the app. If you use Google Drive backup, backup files remain in your Google Drive app data until you remove them or revoke the app's access from your Google Account settings. You can request privacy assistance at any time by contacting us at the email address below.
Notifications
The app can send local push notifications (e.g., payment reminders). These are generated on-device and are not routed through any external notification service or server.
Permissions
- USE_BIOMETRIC / USE_FINGERPRINT — biometric lock screen.
- RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED — reschedule notifications after device restart.
- POST_NOTIFICATIONS — display payment reminders.
- Internet — required only for Google Drive backup (Pro).
Children's Privacy
RentFlow is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children.
Changes to This Policy
If we update this privacy policy, we will post the new version at this URL. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
